We at Grange Clinic have now completed our involvement in providing booster vaccines for Covid19 having run a number of clinics for our practice patients aged 70 and over and a small number of patients younger than 60 who have underlying illnesses.

We are aware that a number of patients have received a text message from the HSE suggesting they contact the clinic for provision of Covid Booster vaccines.

General Practice was tasked to vaccinating the over 70 age cohort and possibly providing boosters to patients UNDER THE AGE of 60 who have significant underlying illnesses.

General Practice has NEVER been asked to prioritise the 60-69 years age group. This age group has always been managed in the mass vaccination centres run by The HSE with some also being vaccinated in community pharmacies.

We had no involvement or prior knowledge about the issuing of the text to patients aged 60-69.
We have now been told that The HSE has been asked by the Irish Medical Organization to reissue the text to patients aged 60-69 with the clause relating to General Practice removed.
We hope this clarifies the current situation.
